Horizon Guides' 11-day itinerary takes in some of the most wild, beautiful and dramatic landscapes of southern Tasmania. Pristine beaches, towering dolerite cliffs, sub-alpine forests and glacial tarns. Dip into the history, life and culture of these unique areas so close to Hobart. You will be treated to a truly memorable experience!

BRUNY ISLAND

  • Stay 4 nights at Adventure Bay Retreat on ruggedly spectacular Bruny Island (access by vehicle ferry only)
  • Relax after walking and spot the gorgeous white wallabies around the lodge.
  • Enjoy a spectacular 4 hr Pennicott Wilderness Cruise from Adventure Bay.
  • Hike South Bruny Island taking in beaches, heathland and clifftops.
  • Explore around Dennes Point and Barnes Bay on North Bruny Island.

SOUTH WEST 

  • Experience one of the great Tasmanian travel routes on a breathtaking drive deep into South West Tasmania.

  • Hike to a spectacular high point, take in the wild vista and breathe in the best air in the world!

MAYDENA & MT FIELD WATERFALLS

  • Stay 1 night at the cosy Giants Table Cottages at Maydena.
  • Walk through lush forests to three beautiful waterfalls in Mt Field NP.

HUON VALLEY

  • Stay 3 nights at historic Kermandie Hotel overlooking the Huon River.
  • Visit the famous Wooden Boat Centre in Franklin.
  • Hike to Ladies Tarn and Hartz Peak in Hartz Mountains N.P. (Views across the SW and to Bruny Island!)
  • Marvel at the delicate features in Hastings Caves.
  • Cruise the Huon River aboard 'La Drone', built in 1948 and beautifully restored.
